The Woodlands Dance Club
Tenth Season
2012—2013
Purpose
The purpose of The Woodlands Dance Club (TWDC) shall be to enable a congenial group of people to hold a series of dances and socials each year. TWDC shall operate under the following guidelines:
Membership Guidelines
1. The total membership shall be no more than 110 couples.
2. Members may submit names of prospective members by calling or emailing the Membership Chair with name, address, telephone number and email address.
3. The annual dues will be $125 per couple. The dues will be used to cover the expenses of the club for music, ballroom, dance floor, cocktail party, Membership Handbooks and mailings.
4. Singles may join but must have a partner at each dance. Singles’ annual dues will also be $125.
5. If a couple wants to join after the season has started, they have the choice of paying the dues of $125 or coming as guests, paying an extra fee.
6. There will be an additional cost per dance to cover dinner. A cash bar will be available.
Governing Guidelines
1. The club shall be a non-profit organization with no remuneration paid to any officer or member.
2. The governing Board of Directors shall be made up of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Reservations Couple, Publications Couple, Dining Consultant, Hospitality Couple and Dance Club Consultant. Each position may have an assistant.
3. In the event a couple would be unable to complete their term of office, a replacement would be appointed by the President.
4. The President shall name a Nominating Committee consisting of three people including the Vice President who will serve as chairman of the committee. This group will fill the open positions for the following year. The officers and chair couples will be announced and introduced at the final dance of the season.
5. A three member Audit Committee shall be appointed by the President to review the Treasurer’s Accounts following the last dance of the year.
Procedural Guidelines
1. No less than three dances shall be held during the year.
2. Invitations to the dances will be mailed by the Publication Chair couple and the Secretary couple approximately four to six weeks preceding each dance.
3. Members are requested to RSVP by mailing a check to cover food costs to the Reservation Chair or call them if they cannot attend.
4. Dress code for each dance will be determined by the Board and will be stated in the invitation.
5. A Member’s Cocktail Party will be held at the beginning of each dance season and all members for that year will be invited. There will be other social mixers held throughout the year for members only.

1. Guests are welcome as long as the Reservation Couple confirms space available. Guests pay a $45 per couple fee in addition to the cost of the dinners.
2. When the maximum number of reservations has been reached, the reservations will be closed.
